A Bad Habit

Regina had a bad habit of picking her nose in public. She picked her nose when she was at home, in school, and even when she was at a restaurant. She did not care when people around her shook their heads in disapproval. She continued with her ways even when her teachers and friends told her to stop.

During the assembly period in the school hall one day, Regina started picking her nose. Her classmate next to her told her to stop but she ignored him. Just then, a boy from another class saw what Regina was doing.

“Look at that dirty girl!” he exclaimed to the students around him.

Everyone turned to stare at Regina. Regina was so embarrassed that she stopped immediately. She lowered her head and tried to ignore them but it was too late. Many people had already seen her picking her nose. Everyone began whispering about her. Some students even pointed at her. They scrunched up their faces in disgust. Regina’s cheeks were flushed with embarrassment.

That incident certainly taught Regina a lesson. From then on, she seldom picked her nose. She did it only when no one else was around.
