Public Relations

A man can never attain success in life, if he doesn’t know how to keep cordial relations with people around him. A man might be extraordinarily brilliant, smart, practical and dynamic, yet he would not able to achieve success, if-he fails to please people with whom he comes in contact with. Although it is a truth that one can’t please all people all the time, but one can certainly please sensible people with right kind of approach in life.

To please people, firstly, we have to bring ourselves down to earth and remain away from artificialities and false pretensions of life. Thereafter understand the psychology of the people. Ask questions about them to know and understand their behaviour Their attitude towards life. What do they like to wear, eat, drink? What are their ambitions etc.

After gaining knowledge about them talk and chat about their likings and dis-likings. Listen to them more and talk less. Eat less before people and talk politely in a low tone, so that they don’t become irritated with your voice. Be humble enough to pass over a plate or a glass to your guests yourself a few times. People get attracted to humble people and want their company.

Never insult or degrade anyone around you. If you want to correct the faults of any person, then you should mention his qualities along with his flaws.

People don’t feel insulted if you point their flaws with their qualities. Only condemning and degrading others before public is a great folly. One must realise that we too are human beings and prone to commit mistakes like others and thus nobody is perfect on the earth. One might be better than others but he is not perfect. Even great leaders, writers, sportsmen and film stars are not perfect. They might be more sensible than others, but they are not perfect. They also commit mistakes. Thus, it is not wise to expect perfection from a common man.

Therefore, we ought to correct our own flaws first, before correcting others. This is the best way to improve the relationships with people and to achieve success in life.
