My dear Brother

I received your letter two days ago. I am very happy to read the contents of the letter. Much time has passed since I saw you. I am keen to see you. If a week passes without receiving any news from you, I feel upset. You should, therefore, keep on intimating me about your welfare.

You have invited me to come to Mumbai for a few days. I also intend to see you. But I am unable to do so on account of my children’s studies. Anyhow, your loving invitation will remain intact for some other holidays in the future. If at that time it is convenient for you and your sister-in-law, I’ll pay my visit to you. I hope Kapil will be physically fit. How is he getting on with his studies? What about sister-in-law’s health? Please take care of her health.

Now I am going to break the news. Yesterday your intimate friend, Shri Avinash, died in a car accident. He has left behind in the house his old mother, wife, and two children at the mercy of fate and circumstances of life. It is as if the whole family has fallen a prey to lightning. Though it is almost impossible for you to come over here, yet you should get time to write a consolatory letter to his family.

Pratibha and Sarla wish you greetings. Your brother-in-law also conveys his greetings to you. With kind regards to you and tender love to Kapil.

Waiting anxiously for your reply.
