The first MOTOR BOAT RACE was the Harms worth Cup Competition, held over an 84 -mile course from the headquarters of the Royal Cork Yacht Club to Glanmire, Co. Cork. Ireland on 11 July 1903. The Cup was won by Campbell Muir in S.F. Edge’s 75 hp Napier launch, a 40 ft vessel with steel hull.
