Letter to your father telling him why you could not get good marks in Chemistry.

My Dear Father,

I hope you are all well at home, as I am here in the college.

My marks for the 1st September examination of the Banaras University have now been received. I have got good marks in Physics and Biology. But I am sorry to say, I have got very poor marks in Chemistry. From the very beginning, Chemistry has been a difficult subject for me. My expression is poor, and I have not been able to improve it, though I tried my best. There are so many mistakes of equations and numerical. Besides this, the paper this year was difficult. Many of the students could not attempt it, and walked out of the examination hall. Those who took the examination have also got poor marks. In this semester, the teaching also was frequently disturbed by strikes, etc.

I will work harder in the Second Semester, and try to get better marks. I assure you, I will do my best.

Rest is as usual. Convey my respects to mother, and love to younger brothers and sisters.

With respects, I am.

Yours affectionately,

XYZ.
