The Treasure Chest
Stan and Barry had been walking for an hour in the forest. They were about to give up when Stan spotted something under a pile of leaves. It was the treasure chest!
The boys were delighted. They raced to the chest and brushed the leaves away. Stan found a piece of rock and used it to hit the lock on the cover. He hit it continuously as hard as he could. After a while, the lock finally gave way.
Stan was thrilled. He opened the cover hurriedly. To the boys’ amazement, there were plenty of figurines and trading cards inside. They were old ones that could not be found in the shops anymore. They were worth a lot of money. Both the boys wanted the things in the box. Neither of them was willing to share. Stan grabbed the trading cards and tried to stuff them into his pocket. Barry was furious. He snatched the cards from Stan and tried to keep them in his bag but Stan snatched them back immediately. Suddenly, there was a ripping sound. The boys had torn the cards. They were no longer valuable.
The boys had learnt their lesson. They took out all the figurines from the box and placed them on the ground. Then, they divided the figurines equally between themselves.
