How to Open a Savings Account

To open a savings account, you must, first of all, visit a bank of repute in the locality. If you are convinced of its services you can obtain a form from the dealing clerk. Then you have to find two bonafide witnesses who can attest to your authenticity.

You must fill the form neatly and accurately according to the instructions given. After filling up the form, hand it over to the manager of the bank who will take your signatures on another form. The process is now complete and all you have to do is to deposit the money. A minimum amount of Rs 500/- is usually required to be deposited for opening an account.

A pass book and a cheque book will be issued to you in due course. Once you receive them, you can be all set to save your money and spend it wisely.
