A Visit to an Asylum

The asylum is the place where the people suffering from mental disorders are kept. The people who lose their control of mind are called mad. In this state of mind, a person becomes unconscious of what he is saying or doing, as he loses the sensibility of mind. Recently, I paid a visit to the asylum that is situated in the premises of church.

Sister Elima and other nuns take care of the mental people in the asylum. The nuns are extremely sacrificing by nature. They sacrifice their entire lives to look after the needs of poor people.

Sister Elima took me to the place where the mad people were kept. I became unhappy after seeing the sad state of the mad people. The mad people began to smile after seeing me. I smiled back at them. There was one woman who was not able to get up due to weakness. She kept on wailing aloud. I took her arms and supported her to get up from her seat. I told her that she would be alright one day. She kept on staring at me with love. I requested the nuns to keep on doing their duty for looking after them attributed that they were doing a great job by taking care of the poorest of poor. I patted their back and proceeded towards my home, praying to Almighty God to kindly give relief to these people from the sorrows of the world.
