Memories of My School Days
Facebook is the latest craze- with youngsters and the not so young. I recently got connected with friends from school- grade seven and grade twelve batch mates. Getting in touch with them took me down memory lane and those crazy days of school.
In grade seven I remember having a greater sense of freedom. I was good in academics and curricular activities- in everything but sports. I remember the disgust on our sports teacher’s face after a long jump. We had a gang of girls back then who used to stick around at all times. I remember those that I was close to and the fun we had. We used to love to do some work for the teacher as it meant getting to loiter about the corridor! I remember the Yoga classes and the practice for dramatics for the annual day functions. In class eleven and twelve, I was more mature and less giggly. I loved the ‘practicals’ in Biology especially the dissection. I remember being a teacher on Teacher’s Day and teaching English to students of grades seven and eight. I remember the farewell we got in our final year. I do remember struggling with math and physics as well but I would rather not elaborate.
When we get talking it all seems like a lot of fun and yes, we did have good times but I doubt I would like to go back to school again. Schools, I guess are best enjoyed as memories!
