An Under Sea Adventure
The mysteries of the seas have always caught my imagination. For years I have longed to swim through the deep waters to take a closer look at the amazing aquatic life.
The waters around the Andaman Islands is a snorkeler’s paradise. I feel a thrill of anticipatory excitement as I wait my turn to descend into the water, for my first ever snorkeling trip.
I dive into the clear blue water and am mesmerized by the riot of colours in front of me.
From the corner of my eye I see a school of small orange fishes. I swim past coral reefs filled with fishes of different sizes and colours. Small crabs dart in and out of the reefs. I narrowly miss being stung by a slimy jelly fish.
I am also amazed at the diversity of plant life found underwater. I realize that these plants have a great role to play in balancing marine ecology.
I see something glisten in the sun’s rays and gasp with delight as I find a pearl oyster. I am sure this is my lucky day. Not only have I completed my first underwater sea adventure, I now have a pearl to cherish as a memory of this very special day!
