A Stitch in Time Saves Nine
Sometimes we do not pay attention to small things. We have to suffer on that account. We repent later on for our wrong acts. We should always act in time and do the needful.
If our coat of shirt needs just one stitch, we should do it immediately. If we do not stitch it, the hole will grow bigger and we may have to spend more money on it.
This proverb applies to our character also. Ramanuj is the only son of his parents. His parents love him very much. They give him as much money as he demands. He is fond of going to the cinema. His parents did not mind his going to the cinema in the beginning. But now He has become a crazy for films. He does not take interest in his studies. He often runs away from home. His parents have tried their best to set him right but they can’t. They did not care when their son developed this habit in the begging. Now this disease has become incurable.
This proverb applies to our health also. I was ten years old when I fell ill. I had fever but I did not take medicine. I used to go to the school daily. I played in the open ground with my friends. My father also did not care for it. My friend Kailash asked me to take medicine but I did not listen to him. After ten days I had severe pain in my body. I was taken home. A doctor was called in. He said that I had diarrhea. I remained in bed for 40 days. My father had to spend more than twenty thousand rupees on me. I became very weak. I could not walk. It could not go to school. I failed in the annual examination. I realized the truth of the proverb `A stitch in time Saves nine.”
