Who introduced sex education at first in school curriculum?

First SEX EDUCATION

The first SEX EDUCATION course as part of a school curriculum was introduced in England at Abbotsholme School by its first Headmaster, Cecil Reddie, during the term beginning 1 October 1889. Reddie gave two main reasons for his innovation : ‘to prevent mental illusions due to false ideas from within; to prevent false teaching from other fellows’.

The first officially backed scheme for introducing sex education into the curriculum of -State Schools was introduced c. 1900 at Breslau, Prussia, when the central school authorities requested Dr Martin Chotzen to deliver a course of lectures on sexual hygiene in education to 150 teachers. The lectures covered the anatomy of the sexual organs, the development of the sexual instinct, its chief perversions, venereal diseases, and ‘the importance of the cultivation of self-control’.
