Which was the first Old-School tie?

first OLD-SCHOOL TIE

The first OLD-SCHOOL TIE was the Old Etonian tie, whose colours—narrow blue and broad black stripes—were decided at a meeting of the Old Etonian Association of 7 July 1900. The idea had first been mooted some three years earlier and the intervening time occupied in arguing about the most suitable colour combination. Eventually it was agreed that light blue was appropriate since it had been the official Eton colour for upwards of a century, and that black would lend the tie sufficient dignity for it to be worn in London.
