One of your friends, Naresh, feels that he is not well-prepared and wants to drop. Write a letter to him, exhorting him to appear in the examination as he is quite well-prepared for it.
January 22, 20….
In your last letter you have grumbled that you are not well-prepared for the Class XII examination and want to drop this year.
Dear friend, your letter has given me much surprise and shock. Your despondency is most unrealistic, as it is beyond my understanding.
Only day before yesterday, I had occasion to meet your class-teacher in connection with some personal work. He was all praise for you. You are one of the most quick-witted boys in the class, as he told me. Munish and Divakar have also told me that you have been burning the midnight oil for the last four months.
Dear Naresh, you must be having some misconception about your preparation. You are underestimating your caliber. I can judge it better from a distance. So, do not waste a year. Be assured, you are quite well-prepared and you must appear in the ensuing examination. I am sure, you will come off with flying colours.
With best wishes,
