It was still dark when Sandra arrived at school. She put her bag in the classroom and ran back to the porch to wait for her classmate, Amanda. About ten minutes later, Amanda’s father drove into the school.
Sandra waved to Amanda and her father. When the car stopped at the porch, Sandra helped Amanda’s father to take out a wheelchair from the boot. Sandra opened it and wheeled it to the front of the car for Amanda. She helped her friend into the wheelchair and hung her school bag on the handles. Sandra and Amanda talked nonstop as they made their way to the classroom.
During recess, Sandra wheeled Amanda to the canteen. She helped her buy food. After eating, Sandra and Amanda played Five Stones. Then, they went to the Eco garden to look at the fish in the pond. Sometimes, Amanda would watch Sandra play catch with their classmates. Amanda did not mind. She did not like to be out in the hot sun with the others.
The girls were inseparable. After school, Sandra would go to Amanda’s house. They would do their homework and play computer games together. Although Amanda could not walk, it did not stop them from becoming best friends.
