If I were The Defence Minister
Military strength and efficiency is vitally important for national security and to oversee it is the job of the Defence Minister. A Defence Minister has a separate ministry. Army, Navy and Air force, all work under him.
If I ever get a chance of becoming the Defence Minister of India, I shall do my best to make India strong. To guard my nation from all possible dangers would be my first priority.
The first step that I would take would be to strengthen the Indian Army. I would also request today’s youth to join army, where they shall be given training on modern lines and all desirable facilities in their career.
Furthermore, I would also encourage students in schools and colleges to take NCC training so that they are able to impart some of their defence knowledge to villagers, who are illiterate so that they come forward and take Army as their career for the country’s welfare.
The soldiers would be given full training in weapons of modern warfare. Fighter planes like Mirages Supersonic, Jaguar and F-16 bombers would also be manufactured in our country. I shall also take strong steps to achieve self sufficiency in production of arms, so that we may not have to depend on our foreign collaborators.
Moreover, I shall raise the pay scale of soldiers, so that they can serve the country well without worrying about the financial needs of their families.
In short, I shall change the whole outlook of the defence setup for the betterment of the country.
